Mysskin's anjathey is a great stride ahead from his previous work sithiram pesuthadey, which received rave reviews. Technically the movie is too good and can be compared to hollywood standards. The movie is excellently packaged and it sent chills through my spine after a very long time. Trust me, don't miss this one. And its that movie you can take your date to and get all those hugs , bated breath on your neck :) and end up with mashed hands.
Director Mysskin has surely proved he's no 'vaala meenu' director.His work is stupendous. At one point my hands turned cold and i'm no rabbit. This movie's making is too good and the actors have done more than justice to the script.

Naren plays the protagonist as a irresponsible bully who becomes a sensitive cop. Prasanna comes out with a brilliant performance as a lecherous kidnapper. There is a common belief that doing psycho-like and off-beat roles is easy, might be true, but this one is too good. Ajmal plays the role of naren's friend who aspires to become an SI. Ponvannan the comeback guy does the stereotype of a police officer who isn't as smart as the hero.Pandiarajan does the role of a comical but sinister villain, a good comeback, we missed his restless eyes for a while.

Two friends Naren and Ajmal come from a police background, they live in police quarters. Naren is the angry-young-man who gets into trouble all the time for street fights while Ajamal is the sincere family guy who avoids confrontations. Naren's father is a bit stereotypical (aren't fathers in reality?) , he keeps making naren feel like a worm and as usual compares him with Ajmal. The movie has its opening scene in which Naren avenges someone who beats up Ajmal and is admonished by his father. Ajmal works hard to become an SI which is his aspiration. Naren despises all white collar jobs and hates becoming a cop. Vijayalakshmi is Ajmal's sister and the hero's love interest.

Naren finds himself in the police station and for some reasons pandia doesn't press charges against him, they kinda compromise. Just when things seem to get normal, prasanna misbehaves with jaya during a temple festival and naren beats him up. After this naren's father blasts him ou , following which naren decides to become an SI with his uncle's help who happens to be an MLA's PA, to prove a point. Naren becomes SI by dishonest means while the hardworking and genuine Akmal fails. This really irks Akmal who becomes really pissed off . He rightly believes that he lost because others like naren had made it by hook or crook.

Akmal like othello believes Naren's hand behind it and after his release, Akmal's father gets a stroke, things get worse. Akmal is cleverly insinuated by prasanna who reads Akmal's envy and anger towards Naren and gets him into his business of kidnapping young gals for ransom. Akmal thinks its hawala that he's into but later learns. Prasanna again cleverly argues and even justifies him raping women before letting them go.
Meanwhile Naren sabotages a murder attempt at a hospital following whichhe joins with ponvannan's investigation team that smells a nexus behind the murder attempt. Naren's knowledge of Pandia's voice comes handy and they proceed further in the case.Towards the end, there's a lot of conspiracy, prasanna gets pandia killed for conspiring against him. The gang decides to escape using IG's daughters as hostage. Then comes the climax where the good triumphs over the bad.
Analysis:
The movie is too good for tamil standards. Hats off. But by avoiding a few hiccups the movie could've made big. Especially the fight sequences are too dramatic. The one in hospital evokes laughter. There are a lot really good scenes, the one in which legs speak is freaky cool. Dialogues are exceptional too, i loved this one...
